Dr. Sanjay Jobanputra, board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, offers his expertise in all aspects of colon and rectal care to patients throughout Long Island and NYC. A native of Long Island, he earned his undergraduate degree from New York University (NYU) with honors and then completed his medical school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He completed his General Surgery internship, residency, and Chief resident year at North Shore-LIJ, receiving awards including the Intern of the Year award, followed by a clinical/research year at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Florida, after which he returned to North Shore-LIJ to complete his training in Colon and Rectal surgery.

 

Dr. Jobanputra offers his patients the cutting edge in Colon and Rectal surgical options including colonoscopy, minimally invasive procedures, minimally invasive transanal procedures, sacral nerve stimulation for fecal incontinence, minimally invasive hemorrhoid treatments including the THD procedure, along with conventional office based and surgical treatments. His interest and expertise include the treatment of benign and malignant colon and rectal conditions, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor issues, colonoscopy, and anal/rectal conditions.

Dr. Jobanputra has also contributed and continues to add to the field of colon and rectal surgery. He is actively involved with teaching residents, fellows, and medical students. He has published book chapters and peer-reviewed articles. He has presented at both national and international conferences. He brings his passion for the improvement and treatment of Colon and Rectal disorders to his patients everyday.
